There is a light in all of us. A divine gift, that we can either choose to accept and receive or ignore, discard or disregard, and not receive. A light that can shine for ourselves, and for others. A place from which we find our own goodness and a place from which, when we serve others, we are filled back up, ourselves. It’s a gift given to all; but that not all accept and use, as such. When we accept and use this gift, we live our lives, purely, and in service to one another without expecting something in return. Instead, we are incapable of knowingly harming others if we truly have this gift; this purity of heart, and this light. We shine this light for others, who cannot do so, themselves. We shine our lights for them because they either haven’t received this gift or have wallowed too long in the darkness and need help drawing back the curtains; to see the light. A light that exists to guide them out of this darkness; a beacon of hope.
You can always tell those who have this gift; you see their light wherever they go. You see their light in all that they do; whether that is in relationships with others, in service to others, or in creative inspiration. You see them and soon learn that they are usually the creatives, the artists, the healers, the protectors and the Godly amongst us. They help to drive out the darkness in others' lives, by shining their light on those who need that guidance; by being a beacon to help guide them home. They help smooth out the rough edges of those who dwell in the darkness or who have scars and roughness, about them. This light is like a weapon against their darkness, or armour to protect those who wander into the wilderness; whether in their own lives, or in the lives of those they serve.
Our world is wallowing in the darkness. Our world is full of selfishness, self-righteousness, greed, pride and envy. Our world is full of people who don't know the light, or don't think or feel that they deserve the light. It is full of those taking care of themselves, seeking power and control and forsaking others for the purpose of position, stature and material gain. When we seek these things, instead of seeking light, our paths are never ending circles; our journey is never complete. We are never fulfilled and never whole. Nothing material can fulfill us. Nothing material can bring to us, the light we seek; the light we need to see, do and be good, as we're meant to be.
Nothing that we seek from the flesh, will ever satisfy us. Nothing we seek in this way will bring us the light we need; the light we need to guide us. Nothing material will ever fill the hole that exists inside of us without a full spirit; a spirit filled with love. Nothing material can give us that kind of love; the love that we need to find and spread our light. We keep trying to fill this God-shaped hole that we have, in our hearts and lives; with people, things, experiences, substances and activities. We keep wallowing in the darkness, trying to find the light within all of the wrong things; in all of the wrong places.
We sometimes get stuck there; stuck wandering through the wilderness and seeking the light we need to guide us out, but not finding it. That's why, if we have this light, ourselves; if we have this kind of love, and our spirit is full, we have to shine our lights. We need to shine it, share it and help others find theirs. We need to show them how we found our lights and how we are able to shine them; to help ourselves and to help others. We need to shine our lights to be a beacon for those wallowing in this darkness, who have yet to find their own light; who don't know this light or feel that they are worthy of it.We need to serve others in this way; through goodness and light. To show them this light; in us and in the divine. And, to point out the light that exists, within themselves.
When you serve others through goodness and light, you serve through love. When you let light into your life, you let in love and acceptance. You let in healing and hope. When you shine your light; for yourself or for others, you are spreading this same love, hope and healing the world so desperately needs. You are helping to pull the world out of the darkness within the wilderness; one soul at a time.
